God's Plan Of Salvation

When asked the question, “Where will you spend eternity?”...most people say they “hope” or “think” they’ll spend it in Heaven. They’re not positive where they will go. I John 5:12-13 says, “He who has the Son has life; and he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.”

It is a common misconception that by doing good works or by being baptized, you’ll be guaranteed a place in Heaven. Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, unless a man is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God” (John 3:3). It’s not what we’ve done, but what God has done for us, that secures our salvation: “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). Salvation is a free gift from God to be received by faith – you can’t earn it.

Romans 10:9-10 says:“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Salvation comes through believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and confessing Him as Lord.

If you believe Jesus is the Son of God and that He died for your sins and rose again, you can know for sure that you’ll go to Heaven. If you pray the prayer below, and mean it with your heart, you will be saved and know that you have eternal life.

Pray to God...

“God in Heaven, I know I’m a sinner and I need Your help. I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is Your Son, that He died on the cross for my sins, and that You, God, raised Him from the dead.

Jesus, right now I invite you to come into my life. I confess with my mouth: Jesus, You are my Lord. Please forgive me of my sins. I forgive all others. Make Yourself real to me and keep me from evil.

I turn from following sin. I’ve decided to follow You.

Thank You, Jesus! You are my Lord and Savior!”
